Despite Showing Fight, Detroit Falls Prey to Nashville

The Wings may not have been victorious, but if they were one thing they were certainly determined.

Detroit fell into a 2-0 deficit early in the game, but managed to claw their way to a 3-3 tie before the end of regulation. What little luck The Red Wings had found ran dry shortly thereafter though, as Predator captain Shea Weber capitalized on a bad defensive decision and a fortunate bounce, scoring the OT winner to finish off Detroit 4-3.

Detroit Fans Going Wild After Watching Loss to Minnesota

It is safe to say that the Wings are playing terrible. There is no way to put it besides tonight's game was unbelievably frustrating to watch. It is hard to imagine Minnesota was the team the Wings killed just three weeks ago, winning 5 to 3 with a hat trick from Henrik Zetterberg. Remember that? Tonight was definitely a different story. The Detroit Red Wings lost their third game in a row to the Minnesota Wild.

Wings Hand Victory to Ducks

The spirit of giving is alive and well in Detroit. Many in Hockeytown last night would say it is too much so.

The Red Wings relinquished all control of what was an entertaining hockey game during the match's final period and absolutely handed over the game to the Anaheim Ducks. It was Anaheim's first win in the Joe Louis Arena since 2008, and by the play the Wings exhibited in the final frame, it couldn't have come much easier

Wings Feel Blue After St Louis Wins in OT

St Louis spirits are high after they squash a five game losing streak on Wednesday night, but the Detroit Red Wings cannot say the same. The Wings fell 4 to 3 against the Blues in overtime.

Pre-Game: Can Wings Keep Oil Slipping?

In their first afternoon game of the year, the Detroit Red Wings will play host to the similarly banged-up Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers can definitely sympathize with Detroit's injury woes, having lost their last four games while having lost three of their four top centers. The Wings also got some bad news heading into this match in the form of losing Todd Bertuzzi for a least a few days with back issues.

Mrazek Earns First Win in St. Louis

The Detroit Red Wings were back stopped by rookie netminder Petr Mrazek in a 5-1 victory in the young goalie's first NHL game against the St. Louis Blues.

Mrazek, a native of the Czech Republic, stopped 26 shots and only let in a powerplay goal to win his first NHL game.

Dan Cleary, Jakub Kindl, Cory Emmerton, Damien Brunner and Valterri Filppula all scored for the Wings. Alex Pietrangelo replied for St. Louis.

Weary Wings Battle The Blues

Detroit faces St Louis for the third time tonight, hoping to break their tied record of 1-1 and steal two needed points. Don't miss the march up at 8pm. Follow our Twitter tonight for live discussion of the game and like our Facebook for more Wings coverage.

Pre-Game: The Return of Hudler, Wings Host Flames

In a season rife with woes for the Detroit Red Wings to frown on, they can at least say they're off to a better start than this evening's opponents: the Calgary Flames. The Wings hope to get back into the win column tonight, but doing so will require them to hand a defeat to one of their most recently departed former teammates, forward Jiri Hudler.

Pre-Game: Detroit Hopes to Keep Rolling in Columbus

The Red Wings should be caught between fatigue and satisfaction after avenging their home opening loss last night against the St. Louis Blues, so this evening's matchup against the Columbus BlueJackets could be very interesting. With Detroit sitting in the middle of the conference, another win tonight would be extremely uplifting, bringing the Wings within 2 points of the Blues for 2nd in the Central. Can the Red Wings stave off exhaustion in the tail-end of this back-to-back, or will the BlueJackets seize on a rare opportunity to hand Detroit a defeat?

Detroit Gets Even With Blues

The Detroit Red Wings avenged a 6-0 opening night loss to the St. Louis Blues by beating their Central Division rivals 5-3 at the Joe Louis Arena.

Henrik Zetterberg had a hat trick and two assists, Jonathan Ericsson had a goal and two assists, and Pavel Datsyuk scored the game winner for Detroit.

Zetterberg scored his first goal on the powerplay on a pretty feed from Damien Brunner, who has a five game point streak. Zetterberg added a second goal on a breakaway from a feed from Ericsson.
