Ericsson Out A Month
Jonathan Ericsson left tonight's game against the Avalanche in the second period with an upper-body injury. Later in the second, it was announced he would not return. In his post-game remarks, Mike Babcock shared that Ericsson fractured his wrist and will be out about a month.
This injury makes Holland's early acquisition of Kyle Quincey look even better. He was acquired for depth in case of injuries in the playoffs, but the injury bug has come early. This also gives Jakub Kindl and Mike Commodore another chance to battle for the sixth spot for the next month. Whoever wins the spot will also end up seventh on the depth chart for the postseason once Ericsson returns.
