Red Wings continue playing on the road against Stars

It's the second of four meetings between the Red Wings and the Stars, who both sit in a tight Western Conference. Wings came away with a 5-2 victory at the Joe in November, but both teams are 6-4-0 in their last ten games.

Both teams perform better at home than on the road, but the Wings are working on improving in that department. They only have two losses at home in regulation, compared to six for the Stars.

The Stars are already sitting at tenth in the conference and will have quite a challenge to overcome tonight as they go against Jimmy Howard, who earned his fourth shut out of the season against St. Louis on Saturday. Howard leads all goalies in the NHL with 23 wins, and has lowered his GAA to 1.93.

Dallas will also have to find a way to contain Pavel Datsyuk, who has 15 points in his last 12 games. For the Stars, the Wings will need to cover Jamie Benn, who has 10 points in his last eight.

Detroit is still piling up the roster with injuries. Darren Helm (groin), Tomas Holmstrom (groin) and Patrick Eaves (jaw) are out. Mike Commodore will be in for the Wings while Jakub Kindl has been scratched.

For Dallas, Tomas Vincour (knee) and Stephane Robidas (foot) are out while Sheldon Souray is day-to-day with an ankle injury.

Coverage for the game starts at 8:00pm and will be shown on the new NBC Sports Network. Be sure to check TCL Red Wings on Twitter for live updates during the game, and like the page TCL Red Wings Edition on Facebook for all news.
