Cleary, Bertuzzi Out, Conner Recalled
Chris Conner has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins due to an injury to Todd Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi had missed four games with a groin strain and only logged twelve minutes of ice time in Detroit's 3-2 shootout loss to Chicago yesterday afternoon.
Dan Cleary is also still out of the line-up with persistent knee issues. He had fluid drained from it a couple times during the season, but Mike Babcock says he should be ready for game one against the Nashville Predators.
The Wings' line-up for game one is shaping out to be a pretty intriguing one;
Henrik Zetterberg - Valterri Filppula - Jiri Hudler
Gustav Nyquist - Pavel Datsyuk - Johan Franzen
Drew Miller - Justin Abdelkader - Dan Cleary
Tomas Homstrom - Cory Emmerton - Chris Conner
Nicklas Lidstrom - Jonathan Ericsson
Brad Stuart - Niklas Kronwall
Ian White - Kyle Quincey
Jimmy Howard
Jan Mursak is most likely going to be scratched for Conner, since he has no playoff experience and Conner does. It will be interesting to see what happens with the backup goaltending spot, with Joey MacDonald still out with back spasms and Ty Conklin riding the pine. Darren Helm is still out with a MCL sprain but should be good to go for game two in Nashville. When Helm returns, look for either Conner or Emmerton to sit out in his place.
