Red Wings defenceman Kyle Quincey has been suspended for one game for his charging major on Florida Panthers' forward Tomas Kopecky.
After Jiri Hudler scored to tie the game, Kopecky was racing for a loose puck with Quincey. Quincey got there first, but made a charging motion by jumping into Kopecky's head.
The Red Wings killed off the subsequent five minute major. Quincey was ejected from the game and Driector of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan announced the suspension today.
This likely means that Mike Babcock will stop his rotation of defencemen and insert Ian White back into the lineup for Quincey for the Red Wings' next game against the Blues in St. Louis.
