Detroit Hopes for a Win Tonight Vs Minnesota

It is no secret that the Detroit Red Wings have had a rough start to the shortened season. Two of the three games the Wings played have resulted in a loss. The Wings are starting to look a little desperate and a win in tonight's game against the Minnesota Wild would be just the key to jump start a great season with the Wings we are all used to seeing.

Detroit has been falling short all over the rink. The shots on net and scoring chances have been troubling. They currently sit in last place in the power play in the NHL, scoring not one lousy goal. The Wings are also sitting low on goals per game and on the penalty kill. Again, it is no secret that they are struggling.

However, the Wings have forward Todd Bertuzzi back who should add some pressure. Darren Helm and Jakub Kindl will also help bring the heat.

Minnesota will have Ryan Suter and Zach Praise, who are both arguably wearing the wrong jersey. Both were fought to be a Red Wing during the trading period. While both teams had two days off for rest, hopefully having three of their great players back will give the Wings some energy and some much needed fight to pull off a win.

Ian White, Jonathan Ericcson, Jonas Gustavsson, Jan Mursack and Carlo Colaiacovo are all sitting out due to injury. Patrick Eaves is a stratch.
