Wings Looking for a Second Chance vs Stars

It was just one week ago that the Wings fell short to the Stars at their home opener on Tuesday, January 22nd. The Wings are looking for a second chance to prove themselves against the Stars and take 2 points tonight. Speaking from a bruised Wings fan, a win tonight is much needed after that Chicago game.

Detroit will be missing Darren Helm, Ian White, Jonas Gustavsson, Carlo Colaiacovo, Mikael Samuelsson, and Jan Mursak due to injury tonight. However, it seems the Wings have seen some energy since the return of seasoned player Todd Bertuzzi. Bert scored two goals in one night on his return against Minnesota last Friday.

Wings also have the advantage of a nights rest on Dallas, who is on a three game losing streak with the addition of last nights loss against Columbus. Since Detroit has last seen Dallas, the wonderful Jamie Benn has returned to the ice for Dallas.  The Stars currently sit at 2-3-1, giving them much motivation to win. Hopefully these factors do not pose enough threat for the Wings to fall to the Stars once again.

The Red Wings currently sit 2-2-1 and after the 2-1 OT loss against Chicago, Detroit will most likely and hopefully come out determined to win. Catch the game tonight at 7:30pm.
